In response to worsening fires exacerbated by drying rivers, Brazilian potash subsidiary Potássio do Brasil has stepped in to provide humanitarian and environmental aid to the Otazes community.

Adriano Espeschit, President of Brazilian Potash Corporation, commented: “This is a moment for humanitarian aid, where everyone must unite for the benefit of the environment and especially the people. We are with the community Working together, their problems are also our concerns, which is why we’re joining forces to fight community forest fires. “

At the request of the Council of Indigenous Peoples of Mugla (CIM) to provide clean water to indigenous peoples in the city’s 36 villages, Potássio do Brasil provided two water trucks to address water shortages during the crisis. The trucks were delivered to CIM headquarters over the weekend. In addition to the water supply, Brasil also donated 40 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the local fire brigade to ensure their safety when fighting fires.
