Ximen Mining Corp. (TSXV:XIM) has released preliminary data from hole seven of its Amelia gold project at Camp McKinney near Rock Creek in southern British Columbia.

Ximen Mining (TSXV: XIM) reports results from
Amelia Gold mine

The drilling is part of the company’s plan to explore expansion of the historic Cariboo Amelia gold mine in British Columbia’s Greenwood Mining Division.

The Cariboo Amelia gold mine is believed to be the first dividend-paying gold mine in British Columbia and has a long history of production. According to BC Minfile Records, 81,602 ounces of gold and 32,439 ounces of silver were mined from 112,254 tonnes of ore over 68 years. The Amelia gold mine is located within a 4-kilometre-long gold-quartz vein and network of historic mining operations.

In 2023, Ximen Mining’s drilling will focus on the McKinney vein, which lies beneath the eastern end of the historic mine. To date, seven holes totaling 1,846 meters of NQ specification diamond drilling have been completed. The target vein intersects in four holes (AM23-01, 03, 05 and 07) at depths of 30 to 45 meters below the lowest levels of the mine, with a strike length of over 150 metres.

The mineralized intervals found in these cores range from 0.26 to 0.70 meters in length. They contain a mixture of pyrite, sphalerite, galena and chalcopyrite. Although no visible gold deposits were found, the accumulation of sulfide minerals reflects past mining in the veins. The cores will be analyzed following geologic logging and sampling.
In addition, holes AM23-03, 04 and 05 discovered a second mineralized vein approximately 50 meters south of the main vein, which also contained trace minerals. The full extent of the vein remains to be determined.

Other drill holes, notably holes AM23-02, 04 and 06 targeting deeper areas, did not intersect the vein. It is believed that faults similar to those in the upper deposits (with the veins moving slightly to the south) may have affected these areas.

The results indicate that additional mineable material may exist below and in parallel areas below historical mine minimum levels.

Ximen Mining wholly owns three precious metals projects in southern British Columbia, including the Amelia gold mine, the Brett epithermal gold project and the Treasure Mountain silver project, which is adjacent to the previously operated Huldra silver mine. Currently, the Baoshan Silver Project is selected, and the partners are responsible for annual payments and project development. Ximen also controls the Kenville gold mine near Nelson, British Columbia, including surface and underground rights, buildings and equipment.
